OutBox exists to bridge the gap between wanting to get outside and actually doing it.
My love for the outdoors started early. What began in Cub Scouts grew into countless weekends camping as a Boy Scout, eventually earning my Eagle Scout rank. Being outside wasn’t an occasional activity—it was just part of life.
A big reason for that was my dad. He loved camping with us, and some of my strongest memories come from those trips. One night, a powerful storm rolled in—flooding our tent with wind, rain and lightning. We stayed through it anyway. That experience taught me resilience, adaptability and an important lesson: the outdoors isn’t always perfect, but it’s always worth it.
Spending time outside also taught me how to disconnect. Camping slows everything down and creates space to breathe, be present and step away from the constant pull of screens. That idea is where the name OutBox comes from—getting out of the inbox and back into the moment.
I’ve always been fascinated by how camping gear continues to evolve, becoming lighter, stronger and more intuitive. While working for Cabela’s in Sidney, Nebraska, I managed video production and had a front‑row seat to leading outdoor brands. I saw how gear was designed, tested and built—and used much of it in real‑world conditions.
That experience shaped OutBox. The gear isn’t random—it’s made up of trusted items I’ve used, tested and believe in. OutBox exists to remove the overwhelm of getting outside and make camping more approachable, especially for people who want the experience but don’t know where to start.
My goal is simple: help bridge the gap between wanting to get outside and actually doing it—so you can spend less time worrying about gear and more time enjoying the places that make these experiences memorable.
